#MICROSOFT’S WEDGE KEYBOARD HOW TO#
On the Microsoft Wedge Mobile Keyboard, it isn't immediately noticeable to someone on first glance on how to enable Bluetooth as it is well-hidden from prying eyes. Unsurprisingly, both keyboards come with Bluetooth connectivity. It is extremely easy to activate it for both devices, but we have to give an additional point to Logitech's keyboard for extra user-friendliness. In this mini shoot-out, we will be looking at two keyboards made for tablets, the new Microsoft Wedge Mobile Keyboard and Logitech Ultrathin Keyboard Cover. Microsoft on the other hand, have been working hard to provide a well-rounded ecosystem for its upcoming Windows Surface tablets. Quick solution? Tablet accessory manufacturers have clamored to fill the void, especially for popular devices like the iPad. While tablets are highly mobile and portable, they aren't made for quick and fuss-free typing, well, due to the lack of a physical keyboard. With tablets gaining more traction as productivity tools in the recent years, users are finding ways to emulate the notebook experience on it. Except for the scrolling, the Microsoft Wedge Mouse does not offer any other features.Overview & Design The Clash of the Tablet Keyboards Touch scroll works both ways, vertically and horizontally, which is super great to navigate some websites and large spreadsheets.Ī little minus is the lack of additional touch gestures. Once connected, the mouse performs how it should be and within its (limited) range of functions: left-click, right-click, touch scroll. It is very intuitive, just hold down the power button for 2-5 seconds, have your computer search for the device, connect, ready to use. I had no issues whatsoever connecting the mouse via Bluetooth. On the bottom side, there is a simple on/off switch and another switch which opens up the cleverly integrated battery compartment. A very stylish add-on is the fancy blue LED light used for tracking the position. The design as stripped down as it allows for the two hand positions or grip positions and is probably one of the smallest mice you can throw in your laptop bag without getting laughed at in meetings. the downward slope allows for a second, at first very inconvenient finger placement with which we can maneuver the mouse with resting two fingers on top of the surface without the need of a pinch grip. The entire surface is touch-sensitive and can be used for scrolling gestures. As for buttons, there are only left and right-click buttons as a rocker switch. The mouse is very minimal but styled all the way through. Microsoft has gone a very different route with this tiny mouse, chopping off the entire back of what is known as a traditional mouse design. Added features like gestures, native Bluetooth support, and others make productivity time within an office environment become a breeze Wedge Mouse - The Design With its very unique design, the Microsoft wedge Touch Mouse offers a very small form factor, while offering flexibility in usage and very long battery life.
